Top 10 Tasty World Cuisines

This is a Guest Post by Julia Dawson

If you are a person who appreciates the good things in life then you know food is definitely one of them. There are far too many amazing opportunities to try out different foods from the incredible variety of cultures around the world. While we want to try so many things there are quote a few cuisines globally which are well-loved and respected for their healthy ingredients and preparation as well as their lovely taste. We have compiled a small list of these cuisines to give you some hints on what you should be looking for when globetrotting:

1. Lebanese cuisine
One of the best ways to enjoy Middle-Eastern food is to try out traditional Lebanese, it has a healthy combination of vegetables, not too much meat and plenty of spices that make it what it is. This cuisine is well-loved because of things like the appetizers which combine salads, pickles, dips, hummus and Arabic-style flat bread. It has lots of fruits as well, fish and other seafood rich in proteins and little fat compared to other cuisines.

2. Greek cuisine A Mediterranean cuisine centered around the healthy use of olive oil, vegetables and a variety of herbs and spices which is very different from what you'll find in most places as typical Greek “fast food”. For the most part gyros for example are considered junk food and instead you'll have a chance to eat much better combinations of vegetables, cheese and fruits that blend very well together.

3. Spanish cuisine

An interesting blend between seafood and a healthy mixture of vegetables and meat, Spanish cuisine is very different from the majority of cuisines around Europe. It uses a lot of cooking oils like olive oil and sunflower oil, however their recipes are absolutely yummy especially when combined with the traditional drink, aptly named sangria because of its lovely red color. Although typically Mediterranean in nature, Spanish cuisine carries a very national touch to it like no other around the world.

4. Japanese cuisine

The first thing you can think about is most likely “sushi” whenever you hear Japanese cuisine, so it would not be a surprise that they have an incredible variety of seafood in their diet combined with kelp and many vegetables prepared in a lovely, aesthetic manner. Combine that with a taste of sake and you'll have a nice meal without feeling sleepy afterward as is the result of most western meals.

5. Mexican cuisine
Traditional Mexican food has very little in common with the way its made in the majority of North America and the world. You will most likely experience many different meals dubbed “Mexican” around the world, however you should be aware that the local recipes are actually very healthy – they combine ancient Aztec and Mayan traditions with Spanish influences to provide us with today's unique meals. Apart from traditional meals you may have seen Mexicans sometimes eat some strange and unusual meals such as insects, iguanas, rattlesnakes and even the local spider monkeys. Though that may sound a bit strange you should keep in mind there are similar meals around the world no matter where you live.
