So, you must have got excited to know the recipe, right? Without keeping you in further suspense, let me give you the detailed cooking procedure for a mouthwatering recipe called ‘Steak with Red Wine Shallot Sauce’. Let’s take a look:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound and 1 inch thick New York strip steak
  • Freshly ground pepper
  • Kosher salt
  • Minced large shallot – 1 piece
  • Boxed red wine – ¾ cup
  • Cold and cubed unsalted butter – 2 to 3 tablespoons

Methods to prepare:

  • Get the steak removed from the refrigerator at least half an hour before cooking.
  • Take a large sized skillet with a heavy bottom and tune it to medium-high heat.
  • Pat the dry steak well and season it with care taking help of salt and pepper. Make sure that all the sides are touched during the seasoning process.
  • Hold the steak with tongs making it stand up on the fat strip, as it would allow the fat to melt and grease the pan. This might take maximum 2 minutes of your time.
  • Take a pan and keep the steak flat in it. Start searing with the help of scissors till it goes deep brown on one side.
  • Keep turning the steak and start cooking all its sides. Make sure that the temperature doesn’t exceed 120 degrees which you can only track out after inserting a thermometer inside the steak.
  • Transfer the entire stuff to a cutting board and give at least 10 minutes to let it rest.
  • Set aside the drippings in the skillet.
  • Take the drippings and add the shallot cooking it over medium heat till it turns golden.
  • Take a wooden spoon and add wine along with some browned bits.
  • Boil the steak and cook it till getting reduced by half. It will become slightly syrupy if you take 5 to 7 minutes for cooking.
  • Beat the steak in the butter taking one piece at a time. This will lend the sauce a glossy look.
  • Take salt of ½ teaspoon and pepper of ¼ teaspoon for seasoning.
  • Get the steaks sliced against the grain and serve them with sauce.
