Healthy Carbohydrates to Dive Into

This is a Guest Post by Alia Haley

Is intake of carbohydrate on regular basis good for health? Is it mandatory to include some carbohydrates in daily diet chart? Answer to both these questions is a big YES.

Proteins may well be considered as the building blocks for body, but carbohydrate intake helps in supplying the required amount of energy. The body needs positive energy to function properly. Without intake of carbohydrate, body will slowly become weaker. Daily intake of carbohydrate in balanced amount acts as a necessary energy supplier to the human body. The main trick lies in finding the right type of carbohydrate-enriched food products with minimal fat and calorie percentage. Let's have a look at some of the healthiest carbohydrates to include in the daily diet chart for a better living:

Brown Bread
Giving up on bread is not a solution
Bread is a fine breakfast food. Often, people think that giving up on bread is a must to become slim and trim. But, no! This is entirely a wrong concept. Let's have a look at the composition of breads. A single slice of bread contains 4 gm of fiber. Brown beds contain nearly 6-8 gm of fiber. Fat percentage in brown bed is extremely low, something around 1-2 gm. The percentage is higher in white breads, near about 3-4 gm. Finally, it is about the calorie content. Brown beds normally have a calorie content around 50-60 calories per slice.

Oatmeal
A bowl of oats with skimmed milk is a healthy and delicious diet
Oats are often considered 'heart friendly' in nature. Oats are one of the richest sources of carbohydrate but with minimal fat content. Preparing a delicious bowl of oatmeal is also easier. Simply take a bowel half filled with luke warm skimmed milk. Add half a cup of oats. Leave for a couple of minutes. Add sweetener for taste. Some fresh seasoned fruits can also be added. A healthy breakfast is ready. Oat meal is definitely high on fiber content but low in calorie and fat. When selecting an oat pack, always look for the ones that feature protein content higher than 5 gm per serving.

Sweet Potato
Vegetable intake is always considered a major boon to the human health. However, very few vegetable items contain rich amount of carbs. But, carbohydrate intake is necessary as discussed above. Sweet potato is a rich source of carbohydrate. Include it in the regular diet chart. Baked sweet potato with a pinch of salt and pepper is simply a mouth-watering delicacy. Squash is another vegetable that has rich carbohydrate content. When preparing spaghetti or pasta items, don't forget to add some finely minced squash pieces. It will add to the taste. Squash is always a fine option for meal purpose. It is low on fat content and has good amount of carbohydrate and protein.

Beans
There are different variants available, when speaking about beans. Black beans are rich source of carbohydrate. Baked beans are a great delicacy to include in meals. In fact, bean is one fine vegetable that can be added while preparing noodles, pasta, and spaghetti.

Include these food items in the diet chart. Do it now! To enjoy a healthy living, intake of the right food in correct amount is necessary.
